Lumeka Media Announces Expansion of Its Magazine Portfolio Ahead of 2027

Cape Town, South Africa | 22 October 2026

In June 2026, Lumeka Media (Pty) Ltd announced its plans to expand its publishing portfolio through the introduction of four new specialist magazine titles. The company is pleased to reaffirm this strategic direction and confirm that preparations are underway for the titles to commence operations in January 2027, with their inaugural editions scheduled for publication in the first quarter of 2027.

The expansion represents an important milestone in Lumeka Media’s long-term growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to developing a diverse, sustainable and forward-looking media portfolio serving key sectors of the African economy.

The four new titles are:

Freight Flow: A specialist publication focused on freight, logistics, supply chains and transport, highlighting developments, industry leadership and opportunities shaping the movement of goods across Africa.

Ore & Industry Africa: A mining and natural resources publication examining the extractive industries, mineral beneficiation, investment, sustainability, industrial development and the future of Africa’s resources sector.

Cultivate: A publication dedicated to agriculture and agribusiness, covering agricultural innovation, food security, investment, commercial farming and the development of Africa’s agricultural value chains.

First Shield: A specialist publication focused on newborn care, child health and early childhood wellbeing, providing a platform for healthcare professionals, institutions, organization’s and stakeholders working to improve outcomes for children and families.

Each title will serve a distinct audience while contributing to Lumeka Media’s broader vision of building a portfolio of credible, relevant and sector-focused publications. Through these platforms, the company aims to facilitate informed industry dialogue, elevate sector expertise, showcase innovation and create meaningful connections between businesses, institutions, policymakers and other stakeholders.

The new publications will complement Business Nexus Magazine, Lumeka Media’s Pan-African business and leadership publication, which focuses on enterprise, investment, leadership, transformation and economic development across the continent.

Together, these titles will strengthen Lumeka Media’s position as an independent African media company with a growing presence across business, industry, agriculture, logistics and healthcare-related publishing.

A strategic investment in African publishing

Commenting on the expansion, Zukisani Silwana, Managing Director of Lumeka Media (Pty) Ltd, said:

“The announcement we made in June 2026 was an important step in communicating our long-term vision for Lumeka Media. We are now working towards bringing that vision to life through the development of four new specialist publications, each designed to serve a clearly defined sector and its audience.

Our ambition is to build more than individual magazine titles. We are developing a diversified publishing portfolio that creates opportunities for industry engagement, knowledge-sharing, strategic partnerships and commercial growth. We believe specialist media has an important role to play in documenting Africa’s progress, connecting stakeholders and bringing greater visibility to the sectors that contribute to the continent’s economic and social development.

As we prepare for 2027, our focus remains on building credible publications with clear editorial identities, strong industry relationships and long-term relevance. We look forward to working with businesses, industry associations, public institutions, professional bodies and other partners as we bring these titles to market.”

Looking ahead to 2027

The four publications are scheduled to begin operations in January 2027, with their inaugural editions planned for release during the first quarter of the year. Further announcements regarding editorial direction, partnership opportunities, advertising, contributions and publication schedules will be communicated through Lumeka Media’s official channels.

Lumeka Media welcomes engagement from organisations and stakeholders interested in contributing to, partnering with or supporting the development of these publications.

The company remains committed to building a publishing portfolio that informs, connects and contributes to Africa’s evolving economic landscape.
